Honey Cake From Black Tea

An easy recipe for Honey Cake From Black Tea.

Ingredients
  

  • 210 g flour
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 120 ml oil
  • 3 eggs room temp
  • 170 g honey
  • ½ mug of strong warm black tea (not hot!)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare a loaf baking tin.
  • In a bowl mix together eggs, oil, honey, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk well until the eggs are well combined.
  • Add sugar and whisk again for 1 minute.
  • Pour a warm ½ cup of strong black tea. Mix well.
  • Now add flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until the flour disappears. Do not over-mix!
  • Line a baking paper over the baking loaf tin. Pour a batter into the tin and bake for 40-45 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Take the cake out of the oven and brush it with extra honey while it's still hot.
  • I took the cake out of the tin after 20 minutes. Then let it cool completely. I swear the taste of it is even better on a second day. Enjoy!
