Baked Baguette With Cheese can be a crunchy snack, lunch or dinner. These baked baguettes are EXTRA crispy with a lot of mozzarella cheese. Baguette is spread with homemade herbal butter, that melts in the oven and has this nice basil-garlic taste.
INGREDIENTS:
- 5 small baguettes
- a handful of spinach
- 15 slices chorizo or pepperoni
- 4 cherry tomatoes
- 100 g shredded mozzarella
Homemade herbal butter
- 210 g butter room temp
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 2 tsps rosemary
- a handful of fresh basil leaves
- 1 ⅓ tsp salt
- ⅓ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp cumin
- 1 clove of garlic
Baked baguette with cheese is a perfect snack/breakfast/lunch/dinner for everyone who loves crispy bread and melted cheese. It’s salty, herbal, and full of BUTTER with CHEESE. It smells so good as well! I made these small baguettes for my family for breakfast (it was a recipe testing tbh). And they loved them. I recommend doing them for a group of people for a special occasion like an ice hockey game, football game or NBA. You can also make a smaller batch for 1-2 people. The goal is to enjoy the crispiness and the smell.
What kind of cheese goes with baguette?
I went for a classic – Mozzarella cheese. However, you can also add Cheddar cheese, slices of Camembert or Brie. If you are a fan of blue cheese, add just a little bit as this cheese can be strong in smell and taste.
What tastes good on a baguette?
When it comes to this recipe, there are no rules. I personally added spinach because I like the neutral taste of it. You can use any type of dry salami, ham, etc. Homemade herbal butter is the only thing I wouldn’t compromise on under any circumstances. It’s delicious. In case you end up with extra butter, just cover it in foil and use it next time.
how to make Baked Baguette With Cheese:
Preheat the oven to 170°C. Prepare a baking sheet that fits 5 small baguettes.
In a food processor whip until creamy all the ingredients for homemade herbal butter – butter, basil, spice and spices. Whip until creamy and fluffy.
Cut the baguette in half lengthwise. Cover the middle in homemade whipped butter and put a few leaves of spinach on butter. Add a few slices of chorizo and tomatoes. Cover with enough mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 5 minutes, add more cheese and bake for another 10 minutes. Take them out and let them cool until they’re warm enough to eat. It shouldn’t take long.
