Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 50 g melted butter cooled
  • 60 g brown sugar
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 120 ml full-fat milk
  • 300 g cake flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 200 g chopped chocolate
  • Optional: 1 banana sliced lengthwise, for topping
  • Brown sugar for sprinkling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a bread pan and line it with baking paper.
  • Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well combined.
  • Incorporate wet ingredients: Add the cooled melted butter and milk. Mix again with the whisk.
  • Add dry ingredients: Sift in the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Decorate and bake: Place the sliced banana on top of the batter and sprinkle with brown sugar for a caramelized crust. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
