Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a bread pan and line it with baking paper.
Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well combined.
Incorporate wet ingredients: Add the cooled melted butter and milk. Mix again with the whisk.
Add dry ingredients: Sift in the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir gently until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Decorate and bake: Place the sliced banana on top of the batter and sprinkle with brown sugar for a caramelized crust. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and serve: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
