How to make Savory Pastries Filled with Camembert Cheese:
1. Preparing the Dough:
Mix the lukewarm milk, sugar, yeast, and flour in a small cup (about 250 ml in volume). Let the starter sit until it doubles in size.
In a bowl, mix the starter with flour, salt, egg yolks, oil. Gradually add the oil and lukewarm milk and mix until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour.
2. Preparing the Camembert Filling:
While the dough is rising, prepare the Camembert cheese by cutting it into small pieces. Set aside.
3. Shaping and Filling the Pastries:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the risen dough to a thickness of 0.5-1 cm. Cut the dough into squares with a knife. Place a piece of Camembert cheese in the centre of each square. Pull opposite corners together and press the top with a glass to create a circle with space for the ketchup.
Add ketchup, salami and cheese on top.
4. Baking the Pastries:
Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet. In a bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the pastries to give them a beautiful golden color as they bake.
Bake the pastries in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
