Greek Manestra is delicious. I saw many videos on Youtube of people making it in their Greek houses. It looked like the best-smelling comfort food you make when you’re homesick – if it makes sense. I definitely would.
This was my first time trying to make manestra. I hope you like it ❤️ .
hOW TO MAKE GREEK MANESTRA:
Chop up the onion into small cubes. Fry the onion on medium-low heat in olive oil. Fry until golden.
Add pink pepper and half the amount of the other spices. Add ground meat and cook until it gets brown. Add the rest of the spices and stir well.
Pour tomato sauce/puree into the pan and stir again. After 10 minutes of spices, meat and tomato sauce getting together, add vegetable broth and orzo.
Cook under the cover for 15-20 minutes. It depends on orzo – check if it’s soft. In the end, garnish with mint leaves, parsley and add parmesan cheese.
