Oat chocolate truffles are homemade balls loaded with cocoa powder and oats. They are creamy, hold their form, and you can add whatever toppings you prefer. They’re like your own little DIY project. You can make them for Valentine’s day, Christmas, Birthdays, Date nights or for friends.
What are truffle balls made of?
Truffles are usually made of chocolate (in any form) and cream. You can use cocoa powder, melted chocolate, rolled chocolate, or whatever you like. People add oats, chopped nuts, pieces of fruit, dried fruit, and candies.
You can sprinkle them with chopped candies, or melted chocolate or roll them in cocoa powder.
HOW DO YOU MAKE TRUFFLES THICKER?
You need enough fat to hold the ball together. I used room-temperature butter that whisks into a nice thick cream and gets super thick once in the fridge. You can also use melted chocolate with warm whipping cream that works like a chocolate ganache.
However, if you are unsure about the consistency of the truffles, you can use more ingredients to make sure they don’t fall apart. I used oats (fine and regular ones) for the taste but also the consistency. In the end, you just need to trust the process and put them in the fridge – FOR A FEW HOURS. They taste the best on the second day. I swear.
How do you make oat chocolate truffles homemade:
I prefer using fine oats but if you only have regular ones, give them a spin in a food processor.
Food processor
In a food processor mix all the ingredients on high speed until creamy consistency. Put the mixture in the fridge for an hour.
Form balls and put them in the fridge or the freezer for at least an hour. Add toppings and leave them in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Electric mixer
If you are using an electric mixer, mix butter with sugar first until creamy. Then add an espresso coffee, FRULOVE CHOCO IN JELLY CHERRY, and cocoa powder. In the end, add oats and mix well.
